What's Going On?

Campground Area
Little Bennett Park staff organize many activities in the Park, though most of these activities are held in or originate from the campground. Although there are a few exceptions, participation in most of the activities held in the Little Bennett campground area is for registered campers who must a $21 fee for tent sites or $29 for electric-capable sites. Hence, participation in most of the activities currently scheduled in the Park is largely restricted to paid campers.

Rest of Park
The park naturalists from Black Hill Regional Park sometimes sponsor walks and other activities in Little Bennett Park. These activities normally start in a location in Little Bennett Park other than the campground area, and are generally open to the public. Typically, spaces are limited for these activities and online registration and a nominal fee are required to participate but one does not have to be a paid camper. In the future, we will post information about all such hikes and other activities planned for Little Bennett Park by Black Hills Park naturalists in this area of our website. Look at the current schedule of walks and other activities led by Black Hills Park Naturalists.

In addition to Park-sponsored events and activities, many nature-based organizations such as the Audubon Naturalist Society and the Maryland Native Plant Society sponsor walks or events in Little Bennett Park in areas outside the campground. These walks are primarily for their members but often the public is invited, though a fee is sometimes charged. The Friends of Little Bennett plan to add to this area of our website information about such walks and similar events in the Park that are open to the public as we become aware of them.
