History
Jeremiah Norwood Farm
- Early-mid 1800s: Jeremiah Norwood - carpenter, millwright, and Civil War veteran - lived here
- Into the 20th Century: Browning family grew tobacco here
- Late 1970s: Farmhouse removed from the site; bank barn, corncrib, and tobacco house are no longer standing
- To access to the farmsite (which is now mainly signified by an attractive and expansive meadow that is mowed annually for its hay -- see photo to the right), from Lewisdale Road proceed about one mile down Prescott Road passing the golf course and horsetrailer parking lot. Park near the Dark Branch Trail's northern trailhead.
- Listed in the Locational Atlas of Historic Sites but none of the farm buildings remain
