Summary A rather short, hilly trail under full hardwood canopy its entire length. It follows two dry stream beds and climbs up and over a small ridge.

Narrative Direction: North from Beaver Valley Trailhead

The first 200 yards of Acorn Hollow Trail follow a small dry streambed rather steeply down hill through mature hardwood canopy. See the photo below.

At the base of the hill, the trail crosses the streambed but then begins to gradually follow a second streambed uphill. The trail will follow this streambed about 150 yards through the tall forest until it makes a hard left turn and crosses the streambed on the small wooden footbridge depicted below.

After crossing the streambed, the trail will climb rather sharply up a forested ridgeline. When it reaches the top of the small ridge, Big Oak Trail breaks off to the right and heads out along the ridgeline to the campground.

After this, Acorn Hollow trails drops rather steeply down the other side of the ridge. After about 150 yards of switchbacking, it will reach Stoneybrook Trail where it will end at the trailhead shown in the photo below.
